Dr. Larry Wieland, LISAC, EdD

  Larry is the founder of Goodworks Bible-based Counseling. He has two undergraduate degrees, one in Music and another in Sociology/Criminal Justice.  He earned a Masters from ASU in Sociology/Justice Studies.  Since then he has become an independent licensed therapist and holds a Doctorate from GCU in Behavioral Health, which leans heavily into psychology. Larry completed his doctoral dissertation on Bible-based counseling and its effectiveness for mental health and substance abuse. He has been a counselor for over 30 years.  He currently teaches Master’s level students at GCU and has also served as an adjunct faculty member in the Maricopa County system and taught at various locations, but primarily with Rio Salado for 7 years. He has been able to supervise a number of interns and has had over 35 from GCU at the agency.  He is also bilingual in Spanish.

Gabrielle DeLong, LPC

Gabby received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Master of Arts in Applied Mathematics at Arizona State University. She went on to earn a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Denver Seminary. She has experience working with clients struggling with trauma, eating disorders, addiction, depression, anxiety, and relational conflict. She also has experience with clients impacted by neuro-social disorders to develop social and relational skills, self regulation and expression, and attachment. At Goodworks, Gabby provides counseling for children, adolescents, and adults including individuals and couples. Her goal in therapy is to walk alongside clients through past and present difficulties in order to help them experience growth, healing, and ultimately, freedom to live as their authentic selves. Gabby is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and the skills in this framework. This therapy emphasizes mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. She also draws from attachment techniques, reconnecting to the body (sensorimotor psychotherapy), and awareness of parts of self (internal family systems). She believes that with awareness of our true selves, we can live fulfilled lives and thrive.

Ryan Wieland, M.Div

Ryan received his Bachelor of Biblical Studies from Grand Canyon University and his Master of Divinity with an emphasis on counseling from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. In both, he received high honors and graduated Cum Laude. Before coming to Goodworks Counseling, he served as a full-time pastor for 5-years and a bi-vocational pastor for 3 years. In his time as a pastor, he worked with teens struggling with identity issues, purpose, anxiety, and difficulty in school, with couples working on their relationship, and with individuals working through depression, anxiety, self-worth, and substance abuse and is very familiar with AA, NA and Celebrate Recovery,

Ryan is a master's level BHT, and in his counseling, he focuses on holistic healing of the body, mind, and spirit. His goal in therapy is to help the client see that holistic healing is possible and for them to live as their authentic selves. As a pastor, Ryan believes that most of life has a spiritual component, and if the client is open to exploring this dynamic Ryan is trained to help guide them in the process. Other than the spiritual component, the therapy emphasizes mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Exel Navarro, LAC

Exel received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology at Arizona State University. She continued to earn a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. She has experience working in private practice and behavioral health settings where she has had the opportunity to work with clients struggling with trauma, addictions, depression, low self-esteem and anxiety. She also has experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Play Therapy. At Goodworks, Exel provides counseling for children, adolescents, and adults, and specializes in working with children and parents on attunement, attachment, and regulation. Her goal in therapy is to be able to support clients through the healing of past and present difficulties in order to promote self-empowerment.

Austin Gamble, LASAC

Austin received a bachelor degree in Anthropology and Visual Arts from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina; He also competed as a two-sport athlete. He went on to earn a Masters of Education in Counseling and Human Development from Hardin Simmons University. He believes the outcome of therapy is a direct result of the effort given; putting an emphasis on working in conjunction with the client to reach their goals as well as a greater understanding of themselves. He utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing among other techniques. Austin is also interested in becoming certified in EMDR, a proven technique to help aid in the treatment of trauma. Further interests include earning a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) certification with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, with the hope of working with emerging and elite athletes.

Hannah Kelly, LAC

Hannah received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Grand Canyon University. After graduation she began serving as an international missionary with Youth with a Mission where she received Biblically based training and worked with children and adults in townships, schools, hospitals, churches, and orphanages in South Africa. This where she felt God’s call to pursue counseling. After returning to the states, Hannah moved to Virginia where she earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She has experience working with clients suffering from depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, relationship dysfunction, phase of life transitions, grief, poor self-esteem, and identity issues. Her primary treatment modality has been Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, although she hopes to gain knowledge and experience exploring Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and trauma informed theories as well. Her goal in therapy is to bring comfort and healing to clients, creating a safe space to be real and vulnerable while working on measurable treatment goals. Hannah is passionate about eradicating shame and seeing healthy identity restored.

Debbie Jaskowiak, LAC

Debbie received her Bachelor of Communications from Western Illinois University . She later went on to earn a Master's in Psychology from Lewis University in Il. Debbie has experience with children, adolescents and adults , and couples who are struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse/addiction . At Goodworks Debbie provides counseling for adults struggling with substance abuse/addiction. Her main approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and empowering clients to be able to move forward with their life.

Cindi Kutsop, LASAC

Cindi received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kean University, NJ in Interior Design. She acquired her Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University followed by a Post Graduate Certification in Christian/Biblical Counseling. Her focus is on helping people overcome emotional, social, trauma and mental health issues while working with individuals, couples, families, and groups to help them cope with various life challenges. Cindi specializes in counseling her clients and their families through substance abuse issues and has a heart for integrating spirituality and relationships into her practice because she so deeply believes that addiction is a spiritual and systemic disease. Being a recovering alcoholic and the mother of 7 grown children, she brings a unique understanding that comes through many life experiences. She also believes that interior design and counseling go hand in hand. Goodworks Counseling offers not only a safe space to talk but also beautiful offices where a client feels comfortable and valued. Cindi works in the Show Low office and manages the facilities there.

Deanna Kiester, LAC

Deanna received her masters in professional counseling at Grand Canyon University.  Her internship included working with those coming out of sex trafficking, forced prostitution and those struggling with addictions. After graduation, she received training in working with military personnel re-entering civilian life.  Before becoming a counselor she was on staff with a local personal development organization and spent several years counseling as a volunteer in a church setting.   Since obtaining her degree, she has become experienced in working with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression and addictions.  Deanna is an intensely trained trauma expert with many certificates under her belt, including a trauma specialist training from the renowned Arizona Trauma Institute as well as courses in working with children and victims of sex trafficking. She utilizes many modalities including DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Mindfulness and  Equine Assisted Psychotherapy being certified through the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Organization.

Andrea Villa, MS

Andrea recently completed a Master’s Degree in Substance Abuse Counseling at Grand Canyon University and is now working as a full-time counselor with Good Works. Her background in caring for and equipping people from a wide variety of backgrounds is a prize that provides an amazing platform of support for our clients. We are so excited to have her on board!

Carissa Noel, LASAC

Carissa received her Bachelor of Science in Counseling with an emphasis in addictions, chemical dependency, and substance use disorders from Grand Canyon University and is completing her Master of Science in Addiction Counseling at Grand Canyon University currently. Carissa has experience working with adults in a medical detox setting, residential and behavioral homes with adults who are struggling with substance abuse/addiction, depression, anxiety disorders, and other process addictions. Her main approach is Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and believes utilizing a whole person-centered approach, to help heal physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally

Mindelle Will, BA BHT

Mindelle comes to us from Phoenix Seminary’s Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health as she pursues her license to practice therapy independently in Arizona. With many years of experience walking alongside women and families in a ministry setting and currently serving as the Women’s Director at FBC- Tempe, her ability to care for the deep soul of another is a rare treasure that we get to experience with her on the team.

Cher Thye, BA

Cher received her Associate of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Sioux Falls and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Tabor College in Hillsboro, KS. She grew up surrounded by the beautiful mountains in Bozeman, MT. Since her high school graduation she has lived in seven different states and has enjoyed getting to know the culture and people of the various areas.  Cher has had a variety of different occupations from teaching elementary school to working in financial institutions.  In each area of employment her greatest joy was finding ways to serve people of all ages.  As the office manager of Goodworks Counseling, Cher is blessed with the opportunity to work behind the scenes to provide clerical and administrative support to help free up the counselors’ time so they are more available to focus totally on the needs of each individual client.

Honora Bullock, LAC

Honora received her Bachelor of Arts from Arizona State University in Psychology with a minor in French language studies. She continued on to Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where she completed a Master of Arts in General Psychology. She has most recently finished a Master of Science in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in Trauma Counseling at Grand Canyon University. Her previous experience has included working with children and adolescents on the Autism spectrum and providing social skills training. Her professional interests include logotherapy, CBT, DBT, REBT, grief and bereavement counseling, and the intersection between counseling and end-of-life issues.
